History
Whitewater Township was created in 1816.
The Snow Hill Covered Bridge and Salmon Turrell Farmstead are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Geography
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 35.21 square miles (91.2 km), of which 34.98 square miles (90.6 km) (or 99.35%) is land and 0.23 square miles (0.60 km) (or 0.65%) is water.
