The Road is a 1961 English-language novel by Mulk Raj Anand. The main character Bhikhu bears many similarities to the character Bakha in Anand's earlier novel Untouchable.

His novel, The Road (1961) also deals with the theme of untouchability. Bhikhu is known as Bakha of Untouchable. He is a poor road worker and with his people works to build a road to solve the problems of transportation.
