Emile "Sid" Edwards is an American politician who is the mayor-president of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A Republican, he was elected mayor-president in a runoff election held on December 7, 2024, defeating incumbent Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome. He would be sworn in on January 2, 2025.

Political Career

Edwards is a newcomer to the Louisiana political stage; at 61 years-old, he is known in the local community as the long-time head football coach and dean of students at Istrouma High School.
