581"Ryusui vs. Senku"Nana HaradaSatoshi ShimizuJanuary 9, 2025 (2025-01-09)
Ryusui and Senku argue over which route to take to America. Ryusui believes that the voyage will take 70 days on the easiest route known as the rhumb line, while Senku believes that it will take 40 days on the quickest but hardest route known as the Great Circle Route. Senku wants to make it to America quickly in order to harvest the corn on time, otherwise if they arrive too late, it will already be winter, and they won't be able to make any revival fluid until next fall, which is a waste of time. In order to settle the dispute, Senku and Ryusui decide to play a game of poker where the winner will decide which route to take for the entire voyage. Gen joins Ryusui's side, causing Senku to believe that he's going to cheat to win, while Kohaku joins Senku's side so that she can use her eagle eye to prevent Gen from pulling off any tricks to cheat their way to victory. Senku and Ryusui become evenly matched in the game as Kohaku thwarts Gen's attempts at cheating. However, despite being fooled by a distraction caused by Gen in which he switched out Ryusui's cards, Senku manages to win the game with a royal straight flush at the cost of being affected by urushiol which he is allergic to. In order to improve conditions for the crew, Ryusui sets up a casino outside of the ship so that everyone can join in on the fun. In addition to that, including double food rations, Senku recreates beer as a last component for the crew.

Senku revives Hyoga who agrees to train Matsukaze in modern fighting techniques at Tsukasa's request on the condition that he have the right to revive two people, and as a result, Moz and Homura are revived by Senku and reluctantly join the crew. Inspired by the story of the Vikings who sailed across the sea all the way to America, Chrome creates a sunstone with a piece of calcite that they can use to pinpoint the location of the sun in any type of weather condition. After days of sailing across the Pacific Ocean, the science crew finally arrives in America.

The science crew arrives in America where they discover statues piled up in the bay. Their main goal is to find corn so that they can use it to revive everyone in the world that was petrified thousands of years ago. Ryusui splits the crew into 2 teams, the resource acquisition team who will stay behind on the ship, and the corn scout team who will travel up the river to find the stash of corn needed to make revival fluid. Tsukasa, who is in charge of the battle team, is assigned to escort the scouting team while fighting off the wildlife along the way. While traveling through the San Francisco Bay up the Sacramento River to the Corn Belt, the team is suddenly ambushed by a large horde of crocodiles, but the battle team manage to kill them all easily, and in addition to that, everyone is given crocodile burgers to enjoy. Senku discovers a piece of corn after Tsukasa removes it from a crocodile's stomach, much to his surprise, indicating that the cornfield is just upstream. Continuing their journey the next day, Kohaku discovers tiny corn pieces floating down the river, indicating that they're near the cornfield, much to Senku's suspicion. The scout team contacts the resource acquisition team and informs them of what they found, advising them to let them know if they find any corn kernels floating downstream on their end. Taking a pit stop late at night, Senku gathers a horde of bugs with a light trap, intending to analyze each one of them in order to learn more about the area. He learns that the bugs subsist on corn, indicating that there's a whole lot of them nearby. He also begins to wonder if there's a settlement nearby upon discovering the large number of moths gathered together. Suddenly, Tsukasa begins to sense a strange presence nearby, and upon realizing that the team has been lured into a trap, an unknown assailant starts attacking them with a machine gun, but everyone manages to escape unharmed. Ukyo deduces that someone revived on their own just like Senku, which means that that person must be growing corn somewhere. This leads Senku to realize that they're going to be dealing with another scientist who may have hostile intentions against him and the team, and that he is determined to go up against that scientist and win the fight using their own power of science.

The scouting team continue their journey across the river while also discovering that there's another scientist here in America who managed to revive on their own somehow. They are suddenly attacked by the unknown assailant who is flying a plane. Taking matters into his own hands, Senku creates an acetylene gas grenade and gives it to Kirisame as she throws it at the plane, disabling its engines in the process. Following that, the unknown assailant crashes nearby, but manages to escape. The scouting team succeeds in locating where the plane crashed, and Senku and Ryusui decide to commandeer it for themselves, thinking that it will give them a tactical advantage in their favor. While examining the plane, they discover corn kernels and leaves on it, indicating that the Americans have a cornfield runway nearby. Senku sends Gen, Chrome, and Kohaku to scout the area and find the cornfield. While following the assailants' footprints, Gen, using his mentalist abilities, believes that the enemy is attempting to lure them into a trap. In order to protect Chrome and Kohaku, Gen decides to continue the journey alone. He is soon confronted by the unknown assailant named Stanley Snider who takes Gen to see his leader. Upon arrival, Gen meets Dr. Xeno, the leader of the American colony and one of the smartest scientists in the world. Xeno begins interrogating Gen for information, including the name of his scientist leader, but Gen, wanting to protect Senku, lies to him and says that Taiju is their leader.
