The Abraham Temple (Hebrew: אברהם מקדש, romanizedʾbrhm mqdš; Arabic: معبد ابراهيم, romanizedMaʻbad Ibrāhīm) is a Jewish synagogue located in Gaza, in the State of Palestine.

History

A building was converted into a synagogue during the Israeli invasion of Gaza as part of the 2023 Israel–Hamas war. The synagogue provided a way for soldiers of the IDF to pray amidst their invasion into Gaza.

Before the establishment of the synagogue, soldiers prayed in the Gaza synagogue, which was established in 508 during the time of the Byzantine empire. For two decades the Gaza synagogue was closed and Jews were not allowed to worship at the holy site.
