The 1996 Illinois Republican presidential primary was held on March 19, 1996, in the U.S. state of Illinois as one of the Republican Party's statewide nomination contests ahead of the 1996 presidential election.

Senator Bob Dole won the contest with over 65% of the popular votes.

Results

Senator Bob Dole won the contest by 65.07% of the popular votes from the state of Illinois, the second, Patrick J. Buchannan, received 22.75% of the popular votes, and the third, Steve Forbes, received 4.88% of the popular votes, although he was withdrew.
