Vetoba is form of Shiva (Siva) and Sharvani (Sharavani) is a name of Goddess. This place is called Salgaonwada (salegaonwada) which is part of Adavalpal village. The original temple of Goddess Sharavani is located at Salegaon. These are the family gods (Kuladaivat) of Prabhus, Naiks, Shenais (Shenoys), Dhonds and Petkars. Famous personalities include: The industrial magnate V.M.Salgaoncar, Dattaraj Salgaoncar, "Jyotirbhaskar" Jayant Salgaonkar (founder of world famous Kaalnirnay Deenadarshika), M. V. Dhond (Critic in Marathi Literature). Past ones: Balkrishna L. Prabhu (former chairman, director of Saraswat Bank), Dattatreya B. Prabhu (former director Nirlep Industries and Cricket commentator, Aurangabad). To reach here, get down at Thivim Station and take auto. At the Assnoda (Assanora) junction, take a left and go up the hilly road. It is about 10-15 Km travel. Straight line distance from Thivim station is only 3Km.
